This Film May Be Trash, But Its Quirky & Bad Plot Makes The Film Very Watchable. A Dead Rock Star Seeks Revenge Over His Hometown When His New Album Is Played Backwards.

I am sure most of you know this one. Features Ozzy (who I thought did a pretty good job - wanted more) and Gene Simmons. Satanic resurrection and heavy metal. An outcast uses the powers of his favorite metal singer who died a few days prior seek to revenge on the jocks who picked on him, but loses control.

Had I never seen this piece of shit, I would have always been fascinated and felt that it could have been horrific just based off of the old video box. Skippy from Family Ties is a dork because he listens to metal and gets picked on by some pretty big sniffers. His music idol dies and Gene Simmons gives Skippy a record to listen to of the deceased musician. Laughably bad. There's a cameo by Ozzy and there really is nothing else. Works more as an 80's heavy metal fable than a decent horror movie. I like how they package the modern cheapo DVD with Simmons and Ozzy like they are main stars. You almost have to love Skippy getting picked on and rocking out to bad music though.

80's rocker movie - I liked it

I love this movie. I enjoyed it when it was released in theaters and still do today. It's easy to dismiss as bad 80's horror, but the story, special effects and elements like back masking were timely for the day. Plus, it has Ozzy as a reverend for Pete's sake! That alone is enough to earn a special spot for this one. Ozzy...a reverend...totally awesome.

Not bad for a B horror movie. A dead rock star comes back from the grave to get back at his home town. It full 80's heavy metal movie! Brings back some memories for this aging rocker! The storyline is cheesey, but okay. My wife says Gene Simmons as the D J was in on the singer Sammi Curr's evil plan. The movie is set on Halloween, and the school dance. Sammi wants his revenge and a few teenagers try and stop him. Entertaining. I give this movie a rock and roll two stars.

Gene Simmons and Ozzy Osbourne. Can't get much better than that.

Badly-written, badly-shot, badly-produced, badly-coiffeur-ed ('80s-style), with a very good score by heavy metal legends Fastway, a great guest appearance by Ozzy Osbourne, an interesting plot but otherwise off-the-wall writing and technically good but obviously fake and thus only partially effective effects (pun intended). Sub-par fun.

A great film for an old rocker like me!

If it was less based on "good movie" and more based on "musical genre poking fun at allegations" it would score higher

Everything around this movie is good. Soundtrack, cameos, it feels like an 80's flick, etc. Unfortunately the movie was poorly made. Could have been somewhat more of a cult following if there was some actual quality work in it.

This film is a must see for anyone into rock music and blue electricity special effects(trust me there is alot of it going on in this film). A rocker dies and his soul? is alive in his final record that is giving to his number one fan by Gene Simmons! who plays a dj in this flick - well needless to say this record was pressed in HELL! because when it is played all it breaks loose and by it i mean HELL! Marc'skippy'Price plays a metalhead who goes by the name Ragman(sounds more hobo then metal, but whatever)who is a huge fan of a rocker named Sammi Curr, he is such a big fan he writes him love notes of sorts describing his terrible life and how he thinks about ending it all sometimes - well after the Sammi Curr character dies Ragman goes crying to his pillow and plays his music loud and pumps his fists that are filled with tears and anger at the death of his idol. Sammi Curr comes back and starts letting the blue electricity fly,he tries to kill pretty much everyone at the Halloween dance but in the end he is destroyed but not before his hand is stuck in toilet water and he gets shocked. The film is fun and filled with 80's rock tunes most of which you will not know but there still fun to hear oh yea and Ozzy is in it as a man who preaches about devil music being bad - cool - with that i guess the moral of the story is: If you are a lonely loser rocker who writes about offing yourself - cheer up cause in the end you'll get the preppie girl who cares for you...for some reason?.?.

Remember the 80's sure you do shitty hait shitty mucic..shitty horror movies..this one has it all..Eddie played by Family Ties "Skippy" Marc Price is a picked on high schooler who just lost his favorite heavy metal idiol Sammie Curr played by "light in the loafers" Tony Fields..So he plays the last record Sammie recorded before his demise and what happens Eddie becomes possessed by Sammi and starts to inact revenge on the bullies..This is a bad movie but a bad movie that revels in it's awfulness..I can see how some people might enjoy this dreck but then some people enjoy shitty heavy metal music also.
