Movie Info

In the near future, a troubled ex-cop just released from prison tries to redeem himself by helping to save a young couple who find themselves unwittingly connected to a shady group of criminals. This combination of science fiction and film noir combines a convoluted plot with moody, stylish visuals.

The mystical mood piece is enveloped in a constant mist seemingly emanating from the 1940s.

Alan Rudolph's neo-noir could be the indie flip side to Blade Runner, a crime drama with a romantic dimension in a darkly colorful, grim urban dystopia.

Audience Reviews for Trouble in Mind

I'm always a sucker for a Washington State movie! i like Kris Kristoferson (Spelling?) Devine as a bad ass hood! Keith Carradine with a weird hairstyle! the Space Needle! View of the Alaskan Way viaduct! View of a Washington State Ferry on Puget Sound! Quote: Guy taking job applications to Keith Carradine: "Well, you'll the early bird who DIDN'T get the worm!"

A strange, cool, film. I mean it's got Keith Carradine, Kris Kristofferson, AND Divine! Now that's a cast. Cooper (Carradine) plays a loser who, with his wife and newborn, moves to the city with the hope of finding a job only to get quickly pulled into a network of organized crime headed by Hilly Blue (Divine sans makeup). Coop's new enterprises cause him to practically ignore his wife allowing for recently released convicted murderer and ex-cop Hawk (Kristofferson) to step in. The film has a cool, eighties, noirish feel though it's hard to deny that a few things are very dated that's not exactly a minus in this case. If I had one problem, it'd be that Kristofferson's badassedness isn't used enough, other than that it's nifty little gem.
