Critic Reviews for The Tulse Luper Suitcases Part I - The Moab Story

All Critics (2)

Maddeningly brilliant -- and typically excessive -- in keeping with Greenaway's more mature works.

There is something temporarily fulfilling within the blend and presentation of information and how it is smattered across the screen.

Audience Reviews for The Tulse Luper Suitcases Part I - The Moab Story

Maddeningly brilliant? How about just maddening. Peter Greenaway succeeded in putting me into a coma at the screening of this film and a whole bunch of others as well. The sensory overload doesn't disguise a bunch of rubbish slapped together. Parts II and III? No thank you.

The Tulse Luper Suitcases: The Moab Story is very much a Peter Greenaway film with plenty of stage angle shots and a story line that is just barely there. Nevertheless I was happy to be able to see it, enjoyed it and I hope to see the second in the series one day. If you enjoyed 8 1/2 Women then you will probably like this too. If it was hard for you to follow then don't watch this film. It's a bit tougher.
