Sure this movie has scenes that are so extra, Bella not being able to say a single word and her having such a high pitch gasp but other than 100 more things its better than the first film.
Not a lot important happens, but it could have been worse. It's not necessary to watch this, to get the whole point of the movies.
First off let me start by saying a movie thats preface tries to compare it to the titanic movie has already lost points with me simply because no love story is better than titanic. Second, the whole movie is just one big smelly pile of dog sh*t. The acting is so forced, the only semi good thing about it was post productions color adjustments throughout the film. If you are watching this movie currently, i recommend just turning it off and throwing on the blair witch project because watching them argue for more than 75% of the movie about a map is a better waste of time than vampire porn for tweens
"A whole lotta nothing in between somethings". That's the precise sentence that an article I read summed up New Moon as. Guess they were onto something. Not only is the pacing incredibly slow but all the things that the first film had bad, this movie does worse. The acting is worse, the script is worse and it's hard to take seriously. With cringy dialogue, an overlong runtime and unlikable leads. Basically the Cullens leave because Bella got a papercut on her birthday and she spends 3 months sitting on a chair sulking and apparently that's all she did in those 3 months, seeing as how she never changes clothes and nothing in the background looks any different. The few things the movie has going for it are: some decent-ish, if disappointingly brief, action scenes with some decently rendered CGI werewolves and Michael Sheen's performance. Shame he's not in a whole lot of it because God forbid we put in someone who's good at acting, regardless of film quality, and have him stay there for more than 10 minutes. We wouldn't want the other actors to be revolting now, would we? Also, why doesn't she stay with Jacob? True, I already know who she'll end up with (I haven't felt this much suspense since Katniss, Peeta and Gale) but Jacob actually does have more dimensions than sparkly Cedric Diggory ever had. And I'm not saying that because we share the same first name. If you're a Twilight fan, more power to you. But if you're not, this movie is so boring. Even if the franchise was already fairly short on action to begin with, that doesn't excuse the fact that barely anything happens of interest despite being a story about vampires and werewolves.
I was dragged to see this in theaters and I told her it would suck. But of course, she didn't believe me. Every line was corny, the cheese factor was way up, the three prance around with being a drama queen over two individuals trying to impress her, it just made me ill. At theaters I couldn't stop laughing at it unintentionally. I said I would hold my breath at it, but I couldn't believe that people obviously believed what she was saying. It was pandering. Nonsensical. I was glad when the credits started rolling. I left the theater gladly. When three more of this franchise came about, I was already done with the first one. I won't be seeing anymore of this franchise.
had a lot of fun watching it with a friend, which is the only way to be able to watch it because it is awful. Would have been a lot better without any of the main characters, especially that Edward tool. Bella should have gotten with Alice instead, I'd watch that. Too many men without shirts on. Seriously, they were just rippin em off left and right. Really liked the cool vampire cult at the end, but I'd like to see more of them. Moral of the story: fuck vampires but don't get emotionally attached.
Never realized how bad Kristen Stewart's acting was in the twilight series. WHY!
This is indescribably bad
In my option the best of the Twilight series. Edward is gone, Jacobs always there. Will Bella move on or wait for Edward. Then there's the haunting return of one of the bad guys from the first movie and the introduction fo the vultory. A must watch for vampire fans.
Although some parts were a drag, I liked the progression of the story. It was entertaining, slow and romantic. As always, can’t wait to watch the next 3 films and read the books!! I’m intrigued as to how everything will unfold.
