Critic Reviews for Twinsters
Futerman makes a momentous discovery that she adeptly shapes into an affecting emotional journey as well as a telling example of how the fortuitous intervention of social media continues to reshape lives in unexpected ways.
As this cosmopolitan documentary progresses, it migrates from cute and effervescent to seriously affecting.
In general, "Twinsters" makes for a heartfelt alternative to a traditional documentary approach.
Twinsters is a heartwarming true story that might not have happened without social media, so score one for modern technology.
Two separated siblings are reunited in Samantha Futerman and Ryan Miyamoto's irresistible documentary.
For the all things that Twinsters does right, like the technical delivery that is well done, the flawless editing, the consistent voice that runs through it, and a somewhat compelling story, there is still something that is seriously missing.
Audience Reviews for Twinsters
Walks viewers through a range of emotions; touching, if not overlong
Remarkably well made for a first time filmmaker, Twinsters is easily my favorite documentary of 2015 thus far! We follow Samantha, a Korean born girl adopted by American parents, as she discovers that she might have a twin sister that nobody ever knew existed. Well paced, funny, and emotional to the perfect degree, Twinsters feels unlike most documentaries and is guaranteed to entertain. But beyond that, it will also fascinate and force you to explore nature, nurture, and what family really means. I could not possibly recommend this film more! ~ A
