Comedy with characters verging on the silly, the story is in that area too.

Saw this one two years after the release. And I can say, I am glad I did. Don't miss this one if you're an Indian. Emotions, love, struggle and smiles. Brilliant movie! :)

A middle-class family in India struggles to improve their lives despite a sagging income.

Simple and smooth. And different from the standard fare. Most movies ignore daily life and focus on extraordinary events and stories with beautiful people.

This one is absolute opposite. A standard family, Daily struggles on keeping the face, honour and societal obligations apart from supporting kids in fulfilling their ambitions and checking their misadventures. Realistic and still humorous depiction of a teacher's plight while dealing with students, family members, neighbors as well as bosses. And of course, great acting.

As long as you don't expect lots of thrilling ups and downs or sizzling Bollywood "hero-heroine" drama, this is a great movie.

Very nice movie after a long time... easy going , but hitting hard on the subject of common man and his struggles in life. Worth watching this...

Acting by Rishi and Neetu singh is excellent.

Nice. Entertaining, and some fresh new faces. Also very necessary at times - this movie reminds you, gently and pleasantly, subtly, but very clearly - there's a lot you take for granted, that someone else may have to struggle for. Keep your head out of the clouds and your feet on the ground.

One of the most lovable pairs of yesteryears (who gave us such hits as Rafoochakkar, Khel Khel Mein, Kabhi Kabhie) stage a comeback after 30 years here to deliver a family film about a Math teacher's middle-class and mid-life struggle to make both ends meet. Neetu and Rishi Kapoor are simply a treat to watch. Hats off to writer/director Habib Faisal.

An incredibly sweet film, one which you can curl your feet up with the family and simply have a good ol' laugh!
Rishi Kapoor is so very sweet as the dad in this film and Neetu Singh complements him as his doting wife and mother-of-two really well.
A suprising little treat this flick is for sure. :)

You might not make the same decisions taken by the characters in a story, or you may not be living the lifestyle as they do, If the filmmakers show it in a convincing way probably you wouldn't even think of what you would have done in the same situation.
I feel Do Dooni Chaar lacks the convincing power completely. So I failed to understand each and every decision made by the characters in the movie, which was pretty frustrating. Giving it 2 stars coz of excellent acting by Rishi Kapoor.

What a wonderful movie ...
I can totally see and co-relate with the Indian middle class family, their houses, situations depicted in it.
It was a comedy but the way the story flows, it was definitely an emotional one ...

In my humble opinion - best Indian movie of 2010.

Delightful and entertaining movie that illustrates the increasing consumerism and "keeping up with the Jones'" culture in North India. Rishi Kapoor and his middle class family must make outlandish purchases in order to maintain their dignity and respect within their society, their extended family, and even amongst themselves. Hilarious, refreshing movie with really good performances, especially that of the son.
