The movie, Uncle Gloria: One Helluva Ride, at first glance reminded me that it may be similar to the Divine movies (that I love) by John Waters. However, Uncle Gloria is different because it's based on a true story. The movie tells the personal story a "macho man" becoming a woman at the age of 67. The movie is very captivating because of Gloria. She is the focus of a real family situation that has an uncommon twist. I could not stop watching the movie. I highly recommend Uncle Gloria because it shows the humanity behind the Journey of Butch becoming Gloria. Watch this movie and be moved to laugh, cry, and understand one person's choice to be authentic.

A fascinating character study that takes you on one remarkable ride with plenty of laughs along the way. A real hoot.
