This is not the best film ever, but thats not what its trying to be, its just a fun, silly and amusing xmas film. I really enjoyed it! The film is made up of lots of little things that remind you of parties or xmas days you had in the past. Grab a couple of whiskies, put on the fire, switch your braid off and have a little chuckle for an hour
Ugh. This was basically a clinic on how to make Brian Posehn unfunny.
Brian Posehn, a single middle age man drinks too much at a Christmas family gathering at his brother's house. After making a pass at his brother's step-daughter, he attempts to sleep off his drunk only to discover a family secret. I've followed Brian Posehn's career for nearly 20 years, so I was very glad to see him in a starring role. The step-son wears an Anthrax shirt.
It's not too well-acted and suffers from some weird pacing issues within scenes, but it is disgusting, dark, moderately funny, and it at least refuses to fit the standard Christmas movie mold, and sometimes boldly does so.
Great film. You can tell its a budget movie and that actually makes the whole thing quite charming.
Far from a life-changer, but enough cute touches to keep you going.
Off putting yet keeps your attention.
Was fun to watch! A little disappointed on the ending though
Nothing like watching a drunken Uncle around the holidays. Had some laughs.
If you like your X-mas movies creepy...
