Undercover Brother Reviews

A hilarious take on everything from race to corporate America to over sexualization of women Undercover Brother is a laugh riot which does not resort to the lowest common denominators to appeal. The most consistently funny parts of Undercover Brother - and there are surprisingly quite a few to choose from - involve Undercover Brother losing himself in white corporate America. The movie uses humor to make its points, but it does so gently, not stridently, and with a smile, rather than an angry grimace. Of course, Undercover Brother is more interested in getting laughs and appealing to a wide audience than in making a social statement. Consequently, it takes equal jabs at black and white culture.Undercover Brother needn't be a guilty pleasure - it's made with enough savvy to be appreciated on its own terms. There are laughs aplenty.

Undercover Brother is a hilarious film that plays with racial stereotypes and tropes and carves out a nice funny story out of it. The plot concerns an underground agency known as the brotherhood that stand against an unidentified entity only referred to as "the man". The brotherhood is African American whereas the man is Caucasian whose sole goal is to undermine ethnic cultures and the Brotherhood stand in the way. When a high flying African American general, plotting to stand as President is brainwashed the Brotherhood hire our lead- Undercover Brother to delve deeply into the matter. The film succeeds because the cast is great and clearly having a good time. Eddie Griffin and Chris Kattan(as the man's subordinate) carry the film and they are superbly assisted by the likes of Dave Chappelle, Denise Richards, Neil Patrick Harris and others. Watch out for James Brown's cameo too. Undercover Brother is sadly reminiscent of a more casual time before the anxious days now of racial and ethnic differences being thrown all around the world. (Must watch underrated gem).

Well done spoof on blaxploitation flicks with all around good performances from the cast. Not a great movie, but the type that you can watch just a snippet of a get a few laughs from the inanity.

A lot of the jokes were funny but it was so stupid, I couldn't pay attention.

This is such a great classic. I wish I saw this in theaters back when it first came out. Finally saw it when it premiered on Starz. Me and my family loved it. It's a fantastic spoof of blaxpoitation movies combined with satiring racial issues, and it's written very well. I never miss an opertunity to watch it whenever it's available.

You mess with the Fro... One of my favorite comedies. The movie also has one of the best, if not the best, girl fight scenes ever filmed ... You got to go.
