The score, the voices and the tempo of Monson's editing induce a mesmerising effect.
To be fair, a lot of what Monson says makes good sense. Yes, we would all be healthier, and the world more sustainable, if we did give up meat. Yes, animals should be treated with dignity.
It is an annoying, self-righteous finger waving rant that is at once pretentious and florid and broad and overly simplistic.
It may be easy to scoff at Unity on paper, but it's a daring, stirring piece of cinema that isn't afraid to tackle the big questions head-on.
