A risible effort that had achieved turkey status long before MST3K arrived on the scene.

Audience Reviews for Untamed Youth

Watching some of the old MST3K episodes available for streaming on Hulu and Netflix (there is a different random selection on each platform). Whether it is Joel or Mike watching these awful movies with the bots I do not envy their torture. Their snarky comments add some entertainment value, but my ratings are based on the movie's quality itself and not the commentary broadcast from the satellite of love. A misunderstanding of juvenile delinquency. A lame and too clean-cut representation of rock-n-roll, although it is the early years of the music genre. Has an element of the movie Brubaker about prison corruption, but with teens forced into slave labor to serve their time. Two sisters are the main characters. One wants to be a singer and one falls for the son of a local farming boss. Unintentionally funny while poorly written and shot.

A hugely under-appreciated B movie. The cast is superb starting with Mamie Van Doren - the first female actor to sing rock and roll in a movie. The campy plot line and cheesy dialogue entertainingly groan-inducing. The music is surprisingly catchy.. Director Howard W. Koch would go on to have a very distinguished career in Hollywood including head of Paramount Pictures.

The acting was disturbing but the musical numbers and dance were even worse. A wouldn't even call it a "campy classic", this teen exploitation would make Elvis cry.
