Audience Reviews for The Virgo, The Taurus and The Capricorn

Ah, the Italian sex comedy, what a puzzling genre to me as an American. I always find these a bit baffling because I tend to gravitate towards the ones starring Edwige Fenech, who invariably has a slobby husband who spends the movie cheating on her, until she's finally had enough and lowers the hammer on the guy. To say that I find cheating on the Fenech highly illogical is a giant understatement, which in turn makes the rest of the film seem patently ridiculous. Worth a peep for the various amusing situations, but don't be surprised if you are scratching your head from time to time with the plot twists.

The Italians are a very horny bunch. This supposed sex comedy about a cheating husband and her faithful wife, boinks around for a minute before settling into its simple running scales of humor and nudity. A simple frame is set around three different examples of how Edwige Fenech enacts her revenge against her unfaithful husband. Whether poking his finger into his business partner's wife or really putting the dick into the dictation his secretary is taking, Alberto Lionello plays the husband with an over the top sweatiness. Biting into his hammines while falling all over the furniture, frantically. He prefigures Rodney Dangerfield's pit stained appeal by at least a decade. Edwige Fenech is stunning as the good wife finally driven in the muscular arms of a skinny buck tooth lover. Mostly nude for much of the movie, she adds the sexy where there is hardly any humor. There is some silly plot about some beach resort con artists, that involves the wonderful Alvaro Vitali and sputtering akwardness of Giacomo Rizzo and the twitchy Macione as a faux baron who can't get anything but knees to the groin from the ladies. Did I mention that Edwige Fenech is naked for most of the movie? Yeah, that is really good.
