archie g 12/27/2017 A great history lesson focusing on human evolution and supported by great costumes and make up on actors. See more 05/04/2013 I thought this was the worst of all of the "Walking with" documentaries. It has a very nice concept, showing how humans evolved over millions of years, leading up to modern man, but it was poorly executed. The effects (both practical and CG) are disappointing, especially the CG. I have many other complaints (especially the man who was in the prehistoric settings who did absolutely nothing) but I could spend forever listing them out. BBC tried something different with this, and it was utter failure. Wasted potential, if you ask me. (NOTE: I have not seen the original british version, this review is of the american version. Hopefully the british one was better.) See more 03/12/2011 This "documentary" contains more narrative fiction that actual fact. It provides basic information about human ancestors and evolution, but no amount of fossil evidence could ever lead to this film, and in reality, the fossil record is riddled with gaps and holes.
