08/14/2013 Whensday really exceeded my expectations for a local micro-budget film and really any film at all. It's original, funny, quirky, heartfelt and thoughtful. The plot was unique and well-thought out, showing a very sophisticated interconnectedness. Visually well-done, the music was excellent and fit well. I am still laughing about several parts, and still haunted a little by the story. You won't regret seeing it, I plan to see it again and buy the DVD when they release it. See more 08/11/2013 The premiere for Whensday the movie had a great turn out and I had a marvelous time. A whimsical, witty film. It was a mystical, magical, mystery time traveling tour with a cast of colorful characters showcasing the soul of Fort Collins. AND THE MUSIC IS PERFECTION> LOVED IT!!!! Also, it will be playing at the Lyric for the rest of the month. CHECK IT OUT.... See more 08/11/2013 This movie was so amazing. I went to see it, not knowing WHAT my grandpa was taking me to, and I LOVED IT. It was beautifully written, the acting was perfect, and the music is now on my computer. It was OUTSTANDING. See more 08/07/2013 I actually think everyone is going to be surprised at just how good this movie it. If you put it up against any other recently successful indie fare like BELLFLOWER, ANOTHER EARTH, or another local film INK, it can more than hold its own. In fact, I think the film is better than Ink, funnier than Bellflower, and more inspired than Another Earth. On top of that, Whensday is going make you feel something you've never probably felt while seeing a film before: a sense of pride. Why? Watching a movie of this quality shot entirely in Fort Collins by the people of Fort Collins is something nobody has done before. The chamber of commerce should use this film to sell the city because it does such a good job of representing it. All of us who live here know this city has character, and where Whensday really strives is bringing that character out. From the uniquely Fort Collins cultural foibles to the streets and landmarks, the people of our city are going to love finding so many familiar things in the movie. It's an entertaining movie on its face, but searching for so many Easter eggs is going to make it even more fun. But what happens after the movie plays out here and around the state? Is it the end of trip and everyone goes back to their lives as usual? Well, I sure hope not. If Whensday proves to be the kind of success we all think it can be, there will be more local films coming out of the collective that made it who now call themselves NoCoast Artists. Not only that, but the hope is that seeing a movie made like this one will inspire other people to pick up a camera and make a movie. Once someone comes to us with a good movie of their own, we're going to give it the same kind of treatment as Whensday and play it at the Lyric as well as distribute it among other theatres in Colorado. The end goal is to turn Fort Collins into a little movie making hotbed. And why not? Before New Belgium, our city wasn't known for beer, but here we are with 12 breweries and counting. With that in mind, it isn't difficult to envision a time when the Lyric has 12 feature length movies to play a year, every year from people along the Front Range just making their own movies. Whensday looks to be the start of something big, and it's a hell of a start. See more Read all reviews
