If Wild Orchid were a little bit sillier, it might classify as a minor classic of howling camp. As it is, the movie is pseudo-swanky, chic and sappy.

Less a classic and more a curiosity, Wild Orchid is a cult piece of Eighties erotica that was panned at the time but now is weirdly fascinating.

Writer-director Zalman King's Wild Orchid could be considered the Fifty Shades of Grey of its day: a would-be erotic romp that ultimately carries as much of a sexual charge as a Chicken McNugget.
