I don't know why people didn't like it. It was wonderful movie. It had whimsicle and nastolgic feels all through the movie. People who love theme parks and good feeling movies will love this movie.
Tells the true story of porn star john holmes who was involved in a robbery & then involved in the murders of the people that where involved in said robbery bizzare really I mean being involved in both WTF, it does make sense if you watch this An Alright Movie
This is really a nifty movie
I was surprised by the bad reviews. I rewached it recently using boxxy software and loved the fact that it isn't traditional Hollywood stuff. There is no hero. The characters are completely immoral. There are two separate retellings Rashomon-style, no character development, and in fact true. There is nothing more bizarre than a true story. This movie can also be hard to follow in Act 1 for my fellow ADD sufferers. It's a movie of sex, drugs, blood, and porn. I do have a problem with Eric Bogosian. His accent is extremely distracting.
Pretty bad movie. In telling this fact-based through multiple viewpoints, the filmmakers add an unnecessary layer of ambiguity to the story that makes the film feel slow, confused and tedious, redeemed only in part thanks to some stylish editing and directing and a solid lead performance from Kilmer.
Foot long. Who's got the foot long.
More fact based than Boogie Nights.
The latter years of John Homes is a haze of drugs and murder.
Kilmer is the balls and fine support from Levine, Gainey, Nelson, Bogonsian and in particular Dylan McDermott.
Enjoyed it a lot more on the second viewing.
This Rashomon-esque horror mystery surrounding the grisly gangland murders at the titular avenue and the legendary porn star John Holmes features commendable performances but too ostentatiously Cimmerian to be taken seriously.
A good film but way too complex for me to follow with my concentration the way it is since the accident :((
I downloaded this app just so I can give this masterpiece the 5 stars if deserves.
Tangled and lacking rhythm story. Not that interesting and already told in other movies even being based in true facts.
