Movie Info

Battle Royale II and Yo-Yo Girl Cop director Kenta Fukusaku returns to the helm with this gruesome, over-the-top shocker concerning a picturesque resort overrun by a village of murderous marauders, and a mysterious killer whose weapon of choice is a particularly large - and sharp - pair of scissors. Shiyori (Nao Matsushita) is enjoying a particularly refreshing getaway when she discovers a cell phone warning her to get out of paradise as quickly as possible. Now, as the bloodthirsty locals set out to take her apart piece by piece, the terrified vacationer begins to recall just how it was that she and best friend Aiko (Ami Suzuki) ended up in this dire predicament in the first place. Time for reflection begins to run short, however, when a formidable villain appears sporting a pair of shears that would make even Edward Scissorhands cower in fear. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

A spunky, darkly comic creation with a refreshingly limited amount of agony to share.

Audience Reviews for X-Cross

It was odd, even for a Japanese horror film. I did like Reika - it's not every homacidal manic who can pull off a sweet lolita ensemble. Overall it's entertaining and worth a rent if you're into this kind of film, or like others like Yo-Yo Girl Cop and Tokyo Gore Police.

Directed by Kenta Fukasaku, this is a huge step up since Battle Royale II.  A well told, non linear story about two school girls being stalked by different antagonists.  The action scenes are great with lots of fun violence.  Very entertaining.
