It's simply fantastic, the perfect example of the talent of contemporary Spanish cinema for identifying, analyzing, and portraying the small dramas of everyday life. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

It requires patience to accompany this protagonist, and this is precisely the film's intention, because this is a film with brutal emotional honesty. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

The hearts and souls of its protagonists are full of contradictions (of course!), but their story is close to a heartfelt embrace, one that soothes, moves, and heals. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

It could have been more ambitious in its staging and style, but what matters is that Matute never loses sight of the physical and emotional toll of living with a family member suffering from Alzheimer's or another mental illness. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Marco L @decatur555 4 days ago A deeply sad but remarkably restrained film about the cost of caring for someone you love. Júlia Mascort is excellent as an eighteen-year-old daughter forced into responsibilities she should not yet have, conveying exhaustion, anger, tenderness and guilt without turning Claudia into either a saint or a victim. Drawing on Marta Matute's own experience, the film understands something uncomfortable: love does not automatically make caring sustainable, and choosing professional help can feel emotionally like abandonment even when it is necessary. The silences and everyday routines are far more powerful than any conventional melodrama. Rather than exploiting illness for tears, it focuses on the invisible erosion of the carer and the impossible balance between loving somebody and retaining your own life. Painful, subtle and profoundly human. See more Read all reviews
