Movie Info

With the school election looming, Linus is talked into running for school president. With Lucy and Charlie Brown as his campaign manager and Snoopy and Woodstock assisting, he stands a decent chance of victory. Soon however, he makes unrealistic promises and learns the hard way that preaching about the Great Pumpkin can not be considered a sound campaign strategy.

Charlie Brown may not be elected, but Linus is. He has a decent chance in victory with Lucy and C.B. in his campaign but makes unrealistic promises during his speeches. And he preaches about the Great Pumpkin! I find this animated film fun while it was released during the 1972 presidential election. Starring the voice acting of Chad Webber, Hilary Momberger, and Stephen Shea.

It's OK. Nothing really significant happens and the beginning part with Sally, although amusing, was pointless. There is the brilliant composition "Joe Cool" that is easily the highlight of this special. Snoopy steals the show here. Lucy is very funny as well in the campaign manager role, as she intimidates voters to vote for her brother Linus and shows her entertaining aggressive side quite often. Great ending as well.
