Movie Info

It's family versus money in director Subhash Ghai's colorful musical drama concerning a hard-luck singer who strives to become a billionaire in the short span of 40 days. After signing an agreement with his girlfriend Anushka's (Katrina Kaif) father, Dr. Banton (Boman Irani), struggling singer Deven Yuvvraaj (Salman Khan) has just 40 days to become wealthy beyond his wildest imagination. But in order for that to happen, Deven will have to take an emotional journey alongside his estranged siblings Gyanesh (Anil Kapoor) and Danny (Zayed Khan). But Deven's brothers are essentially polar opposites, and in order to accomplish his goal he'll have to make the absolute most out of every minute he spends with them.

This would be forgivable if the shallow emotions worked but it's hard to care about these callous characters. Worst of all is its inability to address 'genius disorder' in any meaningful way.

The plot is a throwback to old ghar-grihasti films and comes with the message that the family must always remain united. What makes it worse is that the film unfolds at a snail's pace.

Audience Reviews for Yuvvraaj

½

A decent story plot that follows the disconnected lives of three brothers. Anger and strife separates them, and years pass when their father dies. Yuvvraaj and Danny return, hoping to inherit money that will enable them to advance in their present lives. Gyanesh, the eldest, is the only one that remained with their father, and thus inherits everything. Bitter about their predicaments, Yuvvraaj and Danny conspire to retrieve the money that they believe is rightfully theirs. Little do they know, it is a plot already devised to bring them all together and see the reality and importance of family. Great cast- Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Anil Kapoor, Zayed Khan, and Boman Irani. Worthy!
