Mar 7, 2021 The movie reflects war from 3 different perspectives. A Chinese farmer, a Russian medic and a Japanese school girl. Regular people are always in the receiving end of the suffering of war. They are easily turned into killing machines even against their own peiple. Putting differences aside, people could sympathize, unite, and survive together. See more Sep 25, 2019 Outstanding. Only serious critique are the scenes of the Japanese suicides near the end of the film. They are a serious blemish on an otherwise immaculate film. Not suggesting that such acts not occur however, there is some serious overacting there. It depicts the human nature of the three characters very well through there journey across the forest. It also has beautiful scenery and background music. Even though the battle scene is embarrassing, it is a very emotional movie overall.
