Zombi 2 is an absurdly graphic zombie movie legendary for some gory scenes and nothing in between.

A few memorable scenes but this doesn't keep up the pace or plausability sufficiently. Go to Full Review

[the remaster] looks a whole lot better than the bootlegged version lost down the back of the sofa in the video nasty era, but apart from its iconic zombie-vs.-shark sequence, it has little to offer today's audience beyond nostalgia for its own sake Go to Full Review

Though not without its ridiculous, grind house elements, the thump-thump-thump of Frizzi’s main theme always brings the viewer back to the pure, unearthly terror of it all. Go to Full Review

Robert P @Superbad 1 day ago Zombi 2 is a 3.5 star Movie! See more Sean E @EllissinemaPodcast Oct 3, 2026 Some movies begin with a story. Lucio Fulci’s Zombie begins like somebody kicked open a crypt and forgot to shut the goddamn door. Released in Italy as Zombi 2 and in the UK as Zombie Flesh Eaters, this is a filthy, beautiful monument to Italian horror insanity. Watching it now feels especially surreal because I’m two days removed from seeing Fabio Frizzi perform in Detroit. Hearing that sinister, pounding music live and then returning to Fulci’s rotting Caribbean nightmare makes the film hit differently. Frizzi and Giorgio Tucci give the dead a heartbeat while Sergio Salvati’s photography makes paradise feel diseased. Giannetto De Rossi’s practical makeup effects remain magnificent. These zombies don’t look recently dead—they look ancient, muddy and genuinely rotten. And Fulci never looks away, especially during Olga Karlatos’ legendary splinter sequence. Then there’s the immortal moment: a zombie fights a real shark. With the now infamous splinter in the eyeball to the entertaining zombie vs shark battle, this movie delivers the goods for any true gore hound. See more Lex L @lexlerman Feb 17, 2026 Fulci's greatest flick See more Col B @aclockworkpomegranate Jan 25, 2026 The film is a classic art film. Zombie is visceral film that draws elements from the zeitgeist of the 1970s. Gore scenes are brutal, and dissonant sounds score scenes thematically. The pace is somewhat slow but, it is not the driving element. Pacing is the only bad element to the film. The core of this film is a handful of well crafted scenes with obscene amounts of gore scored to an unhinged background causing near bouts of mania for both the audience and actor alike. Fact About the Title: The film was directly influenced by Romero's Dawn of the Dead. Originally titled "Zombi" in Italy. Thus this film is called "Zombi 2" as a related tag to Romero's film as it was perceived in Italy. See more Read all reviews
