Mortal Kombat (2021) Nathaniel Wayne Much as I had fun with this movie and will praise aspects of it, like the fights, like Josh Lawson as Kano, I still came away ultimately feeling like "you would have been a better film if you hadn't been so worried about not looking like the 90s version." EDIT

Godzilla vs. Kong (2021) Nathaniel Wayne It is trying to be fun, but is doing too many things that would only work if the entire thing was more serious. But too much of what's going on is too ridiculous for it to work if the whole thing is going to be treated seriously. EDIT

Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021) Nathaniel Wayne If you are going to do that (dark broody heroes), this is a very good version of that, excellent even. It just comes down to a debate over whether or not you feel this is the version of these heroes that should be getting put forth in the first place. EDIT

Bill & Ted Face the Music (2020) Nathaniel Wayne It's a good pleasant way to sort of wrap everything up in a nice neat little bow that feels very positive and affirming. EDIT

Cats (2019) Nathaniel Wayne I was always a dog person anyways. EDIT

Sonic the Hedgehog (2020) Nathaniel Wayne As someone with no nostalgia for Sonic it's just "fine." It only insulted my intelligence a handful of times at the end of the day. EDIT

Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) (2020) Nathaniel Wayne It's just fun: it is raucous, it is intense, it is hard hitting, it is energetic, it is colorful, it is a dang good time at the movies. EDIT

Little Women (2019) Nathaniel Wayne If you think there's even an inkling that you might get something out of this I would honestly seek it out. It's really really good. EDIT

Pokémon Detective Pikachu (2019) Nathaniel Wayne It's just nice, it's a nice pleasant thing. I think if you yourself have Pokemon nostalgia you'll probably get some enjoyment out of this, just don't expect to be surprised by the plot. EDIT

Joker (2019) Nathaniel Wayne Is it good? Parts of it. Did I enjoy it? Not really. EDIT

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019) Nathaniel Wayne There are plenty of things that are not good about this... but I still kind of enjoyed it. I'm still glad I saw it. EDIT

Last Christmas (2019) Nathaniel Wayne It gets better, which is to say it gets more insane and stupider. EDIT

Frozen II (2019) Nathaniel Wayne Your kids will love it. But if you're like me and you love the original for its depth and how well thought out its thematic strengths were, you will find this one sorely lacking. EDIT

Toy Story 4 (2019) Nathaniel Wayne It felt good to just come in and have a nice movie. This is just nice, and sweet, and endearing, and I think I kind of love it. EDIT
