Pure escapist fiction and has no relation to anything, which if you think about it, and you shouldn't, is perfectly fine.

Bug (2006)
The final quarter of the film is actually rather bloody, almost living up to the promise of the trailer. It's actually rather subtle for a horror flick, but is really good just the same.

Waitress (2007)
Whether or not one should take one's significant other to see it is questionable, because the character of Earl will put a damper on the romance to follow. Still%u2026

But the thing is pre-ordained and the viewer knows how it's going to end from the minute Ted is acquitted. However, if you're a L&O fan, it's worth a look.

Lucky You (2007)
Hanson's usually sharp dialogue is rather blunted here, and the world of the film seems emotionless and remote.

Julie Christie is as lovely as ever, and this may be a bit of a snag, as she doesn't really look old enough for the part.

Jindabyne (2006)
There's lots of talk about kharma without mentioning the word, and a major theological debate on transmigration of souls, which surprisingly, isn't boring at all.

Disturbia (2007)
D. J. Caruso and writers Christopher B. Landon and Carl Ellsworth have indeed ripped off Hitchcock to some extent, but it's also quite original, and some of the visuals are breathtaking.

We have Rolf Lassgard chewing the scenery like nobody's business, and Ms. Babett managing to keep up with him. Mads Mikkelsen tries to keep up, but even though he can't, he's close enough behind to almost keep up with them.
