Beware the Batman

Critics Consensus

Polished 3D animation and a darker tone make Beware the Batman a watchable -- albeit short-lived -- addition to the Batman canon.

Critic Reviews for Beware the Batman Season 1

All Critics (11) | Top Critics (4)

"Beware the Batman" shuffles the personnel deck, then, while signaling it may tackle some serious issues ahead- though not in such a heavy-handed manner that Batman can't reclaim his Saturday morning TV turf.

Jul 5, 2018 | Full Review…

I admit Beware the Batman isn't as bad as I thought it might be. In fact, it's pretty fun.

Jul 5, 2018 | Full Review…

The writing is crisp and even above-their-heads literate.

The creators of the series show an eagerness to explore the greater mythology of the character in new ways that are very promising.

The show just couldn't live up to previous Bat-series', and its disastrous start only ensured that it could never really find an audience.

Jul 2, 2018 | Full Review…

While remaining faithful to the core of the character, Beware The Batman offers plenty of fresh elements that benefit the new animated series.

Jul 5, 2018 | Rating: 4/5 | Full Review…

Beware the Batman is briskly paced and hard-hitting. It looks great.

Jul 5, 2018 | Rating: 4/5 | Full Review…

If you can get past the initial shock of the aesthetic changes in animation and the slow burn nature of the character relationships, Beware the Batman is a very entertaining glimpse into a potentially fantastic show loaded with potential.

Jul 5, 2018 | Rating: 7/10 | Full Review…

Violence can pack a punch even when the players are computer-generated, and the show's often sinister tone isn't entirely overshadowed by its animated style.

Jul 5, 2018 | Rating: 4/5 | Full Review…

Though the creators of this show wanted to give it a darker and more serious tone...perhaps they took things a little too far.

Jul 5, 2018 | Full Review…

The series still boasts some pretty cool animation, but perhaps the over-the-top violence and action was a little much for a replacement of the cartoon antics of Brave and the Bold.

Beware the Batman might not be the most engaging or inventive television offerings to feature the Dark Knight but boasts fantastic animation and a steady supply of rogues to keep it somewhat entertaining.
  • Jul 17, 2018
An innovative take on the Batman mythos that takes bold risks.
  • Dec 05, 2013
la serie no esta tan mal, aunque la animacion es pasable, pero algunos diseños me agradan mas o menos(aunque el de batman me acostumbre) pero los villanos en mi opinion me gustaron en especial la de magpie
