News & Interviews for 30 Coins: Season 1
Even at a run-time in excess of eight hours this season races by and leaves you desperate for the devil's next move.
Despite the broad narrative focus and widespread plot, 30 Coins ultimately remains rooted in the real terror of the way people treat one another in the face of fear.
De la Iglesia continues to be a master of genre storytelling, using his brand of gallows humor, brutal violence and bloodletting, and engaging examinations of the human condition to explore age-old theological themes through a modern lens.
It can be, at times, quite intriguing and even chilling, but at others, incredibly absurd. [Full review in Spanish]
Imagine an R-rated, blood-soaked National Treasure directed by Guillermo del Toro, and you'll have some idea of what to expect coming into this daring and dramatic religious fantasy horror series.
30 COINS is exciting, with its twists and turns keeping the viewer guessing until the very end.
Audience Reviews for 30 Coins: Season 1
13h agoGood ol' Álex de la Iglesia, always reliable for quite the time.
Jan 12, 2021Not a typical horror series with some good character building and intertwined plots, worth watching
Jan 10, 2021Alex De la Iglesia has not done anything for over 20 years. For some reason part of the press defend and give positive reviews of his B (being generous) movies which end up always in a hogwash of ideas, chaos and desperation to finish films. This has also happened in his latest TV adventure "30 monedas". His initial premises are always half decent but why does he decide to torpedo his work half way through? For me anything that this potentially good director can come up with is like going to see a DC super heroes film. You want it to be good but you lnow from the start it will disappoint.
Jan 07, 2021La mejor serie española de terror, me encantó y creo que puede tener otra temporada
Jan 05, 2021A laugh riot. Which was not -- I don't think -- the point. But the great-looking cast members seem to know it, even if HBO did not.
Jan 05, 2021I've just seen the first episode! It's so good! So fun!
Jan 05, 2021Too graphically violent and nihilistic for me, despite its glossy impressive stylistic sheen.
