In the distant future, most of the population lives in poverty in an area known as the Inland. There is an elite group, though, that is chosen to live in a virtual paradise, the Offshore. Every year, each 20-year-old gets a chance to make it to the island paradise by taking a series of tests. Only three percent of the candidates succeed and qualify to leave the impoverished Inland area. One of the newest residents of the Offshore is Michele, a naive young woman with no family who has a strong sense of justice.

3% is far from subtle, both narratively and politically, but there's something honestly appealing about the direct approach it takes, the cynical edge which colors its storytelling. Go to Full Review

As fantastic as Michel Gomes is, he's still an able-bodied actor instead of a wheelchair user who could have brought more nuance to the role. Go to Full Review

11/13/2021 An amazing second season. This show is so underrated. See more 03/23/2021 Wow! What an incredible season, the scenery, the acting and the Photography were incredible! 3% of Netflix is super recommended by me, watch it, it's worth it. My grade is 10/10. See more 01/10/2021 AWFUL, terrible ... It looks like they bought the clothes in the WalMart ... very bad writing, super boring. See more 08/15/2020 Clichés, clichés, terrible characters and other clichés. See more 04/13/2019 The season focused on how the 4 protagonists - 2 from dystopian Inland (Fernando and Joana) and 2 from utopian Offshore (Michele and Rafael) fought against the unjust system of the Process. The show is a thriller similar to that of Hunger Games and Divergent series where the characters fight against social injustice dictated by the corrupt leaders from the two sections. 3% is magnificent in showcasing the conflicting ideologies of the characters that will eventually converge into one solution. Dialogues shared between them resonate well with the audience . I am personally impressed with how Michel Gomes gave life to Fernando. He convincingly represented how an "Inlander" thrives to survive in their current state. Vaneza Oliveira also perfectly portrayed Joana's fierce, fearless, and at the same time compassionate nature. It bothered me that the show would heighten audience involvement to a certain event or character just to immediately terminate them. Overall, I highly recommend this show to people who likes unexpected twists and turns, mind games, and substantial storytelling.
