The reception for 800 Words affirms that there's still a place for well written, well crafted, well cast traditional drama on FTA commercial TV. Go to Full Review

Donald S @RT92444424 Dec 22 this is a truly bad show. It had all sorts of potential but the main character turns out to be a fool. really awful. See more Martin B @RT44235356 12/19/2023 Just a very pleasant show. Good scenery, interesting characters and scripts that are written well enough to make each episode move right along. See more Stephen G @RT76499974 05/09/2021 At first, 800 Words seemed like a cross between the old U.S. TV series Northern Exposure and Dougie Howser, MD, in that it featured lots of quirky characters in an out-of-the way town and the lead character reflecting on life through his writings. But over the course of the season the show grew on us as the characters began to be fleshed out and some plots and themes unfolded. The upshot is a show that's gotten much better (including in Seasons 2 and 3) as it's gone on. See more 04/16/2021 Refreshingly different but it owes success to the ability of the cast to hold it together. See more 06/04/2019 Travel brochure with plastic characters, full of predictable cliches - an utterly boring waste of time. The daughter is a completey unlikable and uninteresting character who overwhelms most of the episodes. It feels like they are trying to create a plotline with no story. See more Read all reviews
