Premieres are wild and crazy, especially on this show, and while this wasn't a tsunami, this is one insane disaster that's going to leave a lot of carnage in its wake.

All in all this [premiere] excites at all the right moments but lacks emotional depth for most of the episode. It's not a terrible start to a new season, but it's not a fantastic one either. I remain cautiously ambivalent about the season to come.

Audience Reviews for 9-1-1: Season 4

The storyline reflecting the actual struggles the COVID-19 pandemic gave to this fourth season more depth and enriches the episodes with more contemporary and realistic layers and details. Everything is very fluid, pleasant to watch and well balanced.

I really loved the first two seasons, it was a great show. Season 3 waas still good but it started to show some flaws. Season 4 is beginning to look more and more like a dumpster fire. There is too much focus on personal issues and not enough actual "rescuing" anymore. And what was a great show with diversity amazingly well without descending into tokenism or pandering is now becoming so cliched and overcompensating. The characters were well written and they were not in there just because of demographic, now they are reduced to pitiful stereotypes like it happened in so many other shows before. Now everybody is being reduced to "I'm black so I have racism problems" or "I'm gay so I have homophobic problems" and so on. It was so beautifully balanced before it is sad to watch what has now become another sad attempt at virtue signalling. And please, for the love of God, stop pushing the Buck is now gay (or bi, or whatever) angle. It's ok to still have straight characters, straight people still exist in the world not everyone is LGBT. I don't even like the character that much, but this is awful now.

Glad to see it back, but I wish they'd make up their minds on masks.
