A to Z: Season 1 (2014 - 2015)

Season 1
A to Z

Critics Consensus

The leads are endearing, but A to Z's writing feels gimmicky and lacks a fresh perspective on the modern-day TV romance.

Critic Reviews for A to Z Season 1

As a whole, the show contains a little more cliché than innovation, but the two principals are cute and likable, and the jokes are good. After the premiere, most viewers will be up for a second date.

Both Feldman and Milioti are appealing, but the show doesn't feel particularly fresh, and there's probably one gimmick too many, from the voiceover narration to the prescribed length of the courtship to the alphabetic episodic themes.

I could easily see viewers who miss How I Met Your Mother investing in this pair of love-crossed beautiful people.

Once you get past all the stuff that's being used to make the show stand out - the show is pretty good.

Not only does A to Z give Milioti and Feldman a new opportunity to woo and gain fans but the sweet-at-heart sitcom proves that worthwhile shows can happen to worthwhile actors.

Milioti and Feldman are adorable, but I'm going to need to care about them a lot more if I stick with this all the way to Z.

Ben Feldman and Cristin Milioti are good actors and undeniably adorable together in this competent pilot, so I'm hoping this high-concept comedy will turn out to be one of the new season's few comedy keepers.

With countless other sitcoms about "zany" couples' meet-cutes, A to Z unfortunately fails to stand apart from the crowd.

I still believe in love, but shows like these don't make it easy.

This show is both cute and worthy of watching.

After just one episode, Andrew and Zelda's romance already feels played out.

Mimicking a long line of rom-com predecessors, NBC's A to Z adds almost nothing new to the genre, and features cookie-cutter characters that harp on old "love and destiny" tropes.

Audience Reviews for A to Z: Season 1

  • Apr 07, 2015
Cristin Milioti and Ben Feldman give pitch perfect performances, and have perfect chemistry! Henry Zebrowski gives a pretty good and funny performance as Stu, but aside from those things, the rest of the show is just ok. The ending wasn't awful, but even if it was the best ending ever, it will still anger you that they didn't get to Z. And then after that you realize there's only 26 letters in the alphabet, and you realize a whole plethora of new things that anger you. It was good while it was on, but I'm not too sad it was cancelled.

Milioti and Feldman are adorable. Something I looked forward to every week. Shame it was canceled.

After watching the full 13 episode run, I am glad I did. I liked it right off, then a few episodes stumbled with plot oddness and occasional script issues. For a romcom right out of the gate, the characters are well develped well beyond many shows that are still running. I hope some other channel picks it up.

The show is bad but Dreama Walker was great. If Dreama continues on the show i will keep watching it. If not, i will pull the plug on this one.

I love this show so far, please don't cancel it!

its fresh and i really love how Feldman & Milioti make the chemistry! I really hope this show will last longer

I love this show! I mainly started watching this because Cristin Milioti has an uncanny resemblence to Jennifer Love Hewitt. I also saw her in the wolf of wallstreet which she gave a great performance albeit a short one. But anyways, I like the concept of this show, its cute and funny and the characters are adorable. I think its great that it kinda makes fun of online dating and just has some real stuff that everyone can relate to. I'll keep watching it.

Truly love the show. I feel like it's something people can really relate too. Also, I feel like it is a pretty new concept of a show. Love the actors as well, all pretty new to the scene and have great chemistry. KEEP IT GOING!

Although this show isn't really funny at all, it is still fun to watch and has a nice feel to it.
