Come for the mystery, stay for Meyers’ lovely portrayal of Pip’s growing pains. Go to Full Review

Despite the few underwritten or all-too-convenient parts, the show is a surprisingly well-balanced cocktail of the common woes of adolescence with the considerably less common hurdles of solving a crime. Go to Full Review

Kelsey W. @einflukerx 23h I watched this with my daughter and we were both very engaged and never expected the twist, it was great. See more Ava V @RT47926349 4d Fantastic show! So underrated! See more Brian F @Perusal 6d Pip is supposed to be "brilliant" but kept making stupid decisions that put herself, her family, and her dog in danger. It was a miracle only her dog died as a result. It was beyond suspension of disbelief that she did not die when she foolishly kept provoking dangerous people for no apparent reason (usually the provoking did nothing to further her investigation). She also was incredibly lucky like with the English teacher's daughter happening to use her father's old cellphone to even figure anything out or when her friend saved her twice. You can say someone is brilliant but in her actions and words she was about a C/C- detective at best in this series. See more S T. @RT43334155 6d The DEI aspect, afro hairdos, make this somewhat fake. Otherwise, it is ok. See more Russell W @RT07150738 Jun 5 A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder Series 1 is a gripping and refreshingly character-driven mystery that keeps you hooked from start to finish. The show beautifully balances suspense with emotional depth. Emma Myers delivers an excellent performance as lead character Pip, capturing her curiosity, determination and vulnerability with real authenticity. She brings an engaging energy to the role that makes it easy to root for her every step of the way. Equally compelling is the genuine chemistry between Pip and her best friend Cara, played by the superb Asha Banks. Their friendship feels natural and heartfelt, adding warmth and humour that perfectly complements the darker elements of the story. Overall, it’s a smart, well-paced adaptation with standout performances that elevate it beyond a typical teen mystery. P.S Emma delivers a perfectly good British accent contrary to what some other reviewers have stated. See more Esra Y @RT95409318 Jun 2 What in earth is making it Certified fresh? To think they greenlighted this *done a trillion times before but simpler, more predictable and uninspring* show instead of any other fresh scripts young creators dying to get it picked...
