See more blue c Aug 28 The first half of this limited series is excellent as the story of Bill and Darby’s relationship unfolds. Their chemistry is undeniable and their journey into darkness is compelling and often disturbing. Once Darby gets to Iceland, it started to fall apart for me. Portraying genius is always a challenge. The screenplay is not always up to it and people who are supposed to be brilliant and accomplished often come off as petty and average. Some silly dialogue and preposterous plot lines diminished the power of the first half. I felt Bill and Darby’s reunion was way too short and anticlimactic. Even the wonderful Clive Owen could not save the show from ultimate disappointment. See more Neil S @Skinmann Aug 20 Loved the premise and the chemistry between the 2 main leads. Thoroughly believable. Kept me on the edge of my seat and never saw the twist coming. Well I sort of thought I did but didn’t. I felt that some of the characters proved superfluous to the plot and indeed most of them didn't figure much in certain episodes but I guess they were there as part of the reason for the gathering as such. Although most of them were never fleshed out sufficiently for them to ever be considered as the killer. My only grumble is that it went on a little too long for me. It could quite easily have been a 2 hour movie and not an 8 hour miniseries. Watch it if you have 8 hours to invest. You won’t be disappointed. I fell completely in love with Emma Corrin. She carried the series throughout and shone in all her scenes. It succeeds in presenting an engaging blend of mystery, technology and human drama. Some may feel it becomes a tad predictable as it crosses the finish line, but Hal assures me that this “can only be attributable to human error". All in all, a good watch. See more Read all reviews
