It’s kind of silly that Kate Mara’s character is supposed to be thirty and the ‘boy’ is supposed to be 17, almost 18 because it would be legal other than the fact that she’s a teacher, it would make more sense if he were 16 but I assume it’s because they didn’t want to make it to ‘not-kosher’ so the character would only have to spend six months in prison, which we never see a second of by the way, they could have dedicated one episode to her prison life but it is obviously a way to reduce budget in a cheap suburban story. The boy (I can’t remember his name) spends the rest of his life sad about this woman he’s supposed to be madly in lust/love with and becomes some kid councillor for wayward youth apparently as if it were ‘fitting’. Everything is just for the plot only with pretty underdeveloped dialogue that could be better. It ends sourly and abruptly but it does get iys message across well enough. There are no two ways about it, what Kate Mara's character did, was beyond wrong. I am surprised that there was no scene where Eric's apparently very sensible and composed mother had a meltdown about the teacher. If anyone did that to my son, I would have to be restrained, at least for a while. I hate Claire, and it's just fictional.
