The show strains to be worthy of more than just the 10-minute-short treatment, and is therefore filled in with some unfunny and repetitive material.

So pleased with itself, it doesn't seem concerned about pleasing us.

Allen Gregory does its job so well that halfway through the first episode, you're rooting for the school bully to kick our hero's scrawny behind.

Allen Gregory is a character in desperate need of a foil and most of the first episode is spent showing us just how insanely quirky and weird he is, without allowing any of the other characters to be fleshed out.

The show is strong right out the gate.

Mildly funny concepts that are sloppily thrust onto characters, with a somewhat interesting premise that's weighed down by a complete lack of logic.

The main character is incredibly unlikable, as are the supporting characters.

Allen Gregory may have potential, but right now, it's a misanthropic, sloppy mess.

Allen Gregory is trying a bunch of interesting things, but succeeding at very few of them.

Probably the worst animated show to ever air on television.

Blatantly homophobic, short on likable characters and never funny, Allen Gregory gives adult cartoons a bad name.
