After a career built as an international correspondent and anchor, distinguished journalist Christiane Amanpour turns her attention to the shifting landscapes of intimacy, love, and pleasure in an increasingly complex world. In this six-part series, Amanpour travels to Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Middle East to meet everyday individuals who are shaping the idea of modern love. How are roles changing for both men and women when it comes to sex, love, marriage, family and divorce? Whether single and dating in Accra, married and sexless in Tokyo, inspired by ancient erotica in Beirut, or transgender in Shanghai -- women and men are pushing the boundaries on sexual satisfaction, consent, and connection.

There are ridiculous asides, both visual and conversational, all of which are calculated to imbue the program with a sense of informality that feels unnatural. Forced. So tortured, in fact, you may need a safe word. Go to Full Review

08/19/2020 I had much hope for this series and there was a lot to enjoy about it. But, I just couldn't enjoy Christaine's interviews. She is so bashful and awkward that the interviews aren't as good as they could have been. See more Petr P @RT49286135 10/06/2019 Loved it , can't wait for season 2 See more 09/25/2019 Cultural studies like these should be done by anthropologist and ethnographers rather than ignorantly blissed journalists. Not only did she acknowledge that she knew little about the cultures she was looking at she even projected her own beliefs on these people. You DO NOT go to a country in trying to understand them and then try and tell them their way is inadequate. As an anthropologist that was very upsetting to see her try and tell Japanese women that they were being mistreated and that they must demand attention from their husbands. Lastly the examples they chose to show were not fully representative of an entire culture rather shock-drawing glimpses for entertainment value. See more 02/17/2019 Great concept and eye opener! Thank you for the conversations and perspective. See more 02/13/2019 Just really, really good! I'm a sexuality educator and event organizer, and I was delighted with the portrayal of the subject, the intelligence of the subjects, and the production quality of the program. Kudos! See more 12/09/2018 I loved this film. It is filled with love. It also shows that we could be way more free and open minded than we are right now as a society in general. We have a lot of work to do and hopefully we will with the help of mind opening films like this one. Thank you so much for this film. See more Read all reviews
