"American Horror Story" was created by the co-creators of "Glee," but the shows have little in common besides that. The show revolves around the Harmons, a family of three, who move from Boston to Los Angeles in order to reconcile past anguish. What the Harmons don't know is that the house they've moved into is haunted. But it's not haunted by Casperesque friendly ghosts -- it's haunted by demonic creatures. The creatures have a history of not only spooking the house's residents but also devouring them. After living in this house, family patriarch and psychiatrist, Ben, may need a shrink of his own.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

American Horror Story: Cult intrigues with timely, over-the-top creepiness - and lots of clowns - despite being hampered by broad political generalizations and occasional holes in the narrative's logic.

The result is surprisingly apolitical and unsurprisingly tasteless. See, we're still living in this moment. Go to Full Review

American Horror Story: Cult ultimately feels like a missed opportunity. Go to Full Review

Now in its seventh season, Cult, the series has pivoted back to what made it stand out in the first place: an increasingly discomforting storyline that holds a mirror to society. Go to Full Review

The first episode shows that the show has the ability to be fascinating, but it is in a very intermittently way. [Full Review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

'American Horror Story: Cult' began shocking, as usually happens in all seasons, and has ended up losing all the strength on the road, becoming almost exhausted and without resources in its end. [Full Review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

To say that Murphy's series handles this was subtlety would be a lie. Instead, it directly confronts the phobias that we feel as individuals and as a country. Go to Full Review

Roger Wayne A @Rogeradams6oh6 Dec 29 It’s okay. Kind of got tiring towards the end. Most fans will like it. Evan Peters did great. See more Vagner S Nov 26 The storyline, which explores the crumbling two-party system in the United States, is interesting, and Evan Peters excels in portraying several cult leaders, which he does very well. He’s the only one who manages to make something out of nothing. See more Laurian D @Laurian Nov 10 I understand why some critics had a problem with the political aspects of this show. Objectively speaking though, it's a hell of a ride. We finally get less gore and more character development and engaging storytelling. This one's right up there next to Asylum and Coven, if not even better on some aspects. See more Kyra G Oct 5 I like shows that have a touch of reality and that’s why I like this season so much. I do love the paranormal aspect that AHS usually brings but I thought it was really interesting for the show to step back into reality and take a look at some narratives that are still very real to this day. Whether you agree or disagree, you can’t deny that some of these narratives are very real…people actually believe them. I liked this season’s idea and storyline. They still kept that creepy and unsettling aspect without the need to involve the paranormal, it’s cool to switch things up here and there. I see it’s not for everyone but I thought it was a great season. The idea of Evan playing the role of different cult leaders was intriguing and I felt he did a great job. Evan and Sarah’s performance was, as always, phenomenal. See more Laliie V Oct 1 Pour moi la meilleurs de tous. De l'horreur réaliste qui traite de vrais sujet. Même si je suis une fan du supernaturel, cette saison est un succès dhorreur psychologique. See more Holly @Hollydalziel Feb 28 I really liked this one!
