The first episode shows that the show has the ability to be fascinating, but it is in a very intermittently way. [Full Review in Spanish]

To say that Murphy's series handles this was subtlety would be a lie. Instead, it directly confronts the phobias that we feel as individuals and as a country.

Cult is a stand out addition to the AHS series, mostly due to its portrayal of real horrors.

American Horror Story: Cult is truly giving me Murder House vibes solely off the fact that this is the first time I have been scared while watching this show.

While Lange's humor was subtle, side of the mouth, and pure honey-glazed glass shards, Billie Lourd comes equipped with that certain Tweetable humor that is irresistible and scene stealing, but for entirely different reasons.

Simply put, AHS: Cult is fun - a word I never thought I'd use to describe a show devoted to clowns, cults, and reacting to Donald Trump.

Now in its seventh season, Cult, the series has pivoted back to what made it stand out in the first place: an increasingly discomforting storyline that holds a mirror to society.

This is a really clever way to use frightening real-life aggression as the subject for a horror show, but it's also so outrageous no one can accuse Murphy of getting too political.

The scary stuff here is the direction America is heading right now, which is either catastrophic or a necessary course correction, depending on whether you've considered buying a "Nasty Woman" T-shirt or a "Make America Great Again" hat.

Though Murphy's characteristic maximalist style is noticeably absent from a visual standpoint, it's still present within the narrative itself, making Cult an interesting deviation from the norm and possible blueprint for future seasons.

After seven seasons, Ryan Murphy's horror anthology series may have produced its best instalment yet with American Horror Story: Cult, which may appeal to its core fanbase as well as those who like a more satirical bite.

No jerk, pro-Trump or anti-Trump, is left untouched in this often unhinged but heartening act of fevered and fun artistry.

This season ... is the first to not have any supernatural elements. But there are still plenty of things that will scare you.

American Horror Story regulars Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson return and they are incredible, as usual.

This isn't ghosts or aliens or witches or ancient spirits -- it's real, relatable, and all the more horrific because of it.
September 5, 2017
Perhaps best of all, it really is a horror story. One that uses artful cinematography and remarkable performances (Grossman and Paulson are best in show) to remind sympathetic viewers of the foreboding dread that hasn't abided since last year.

American Horror Story: Cult has a nightmare for every political persuasion.
