See more AHURRICANEGIRL S @RT53942104 Oct 13, 2026 Anna Pigeon is the first new show that I’ve been excited about in a while. It’s shot in stunning Alberta with a mostly Canadian cast that are terrific in their roles. The main character is a badass while still being fallible and human and it’s easy to root for her. The supporting cast are great actors and have characters that you wish had more screen time. The mysteries themselves aren’t ground breaking but the location, premise and challenges of solving crimes in these difficult terrains makes this show so much more interesting than a run of the mill mystery show. You will fall in love with the characters. Especially Anna and Jesse. But also Zoey, Frieda, Christina, Geoff, Agent Stanton and Manny. I really wanted to like this series, but the plot points at times were just ridiculous and didn’t make sense. People doing or saying things that didn’t seem realistic. And it started off..okay..(not great) and unfortunately went downhill from there. Good points: Park setting (but don't fully utilize) and Tracey Spirodakis (but don't utilize her well, either.) Her acting is decent, but the dialog just isn't there. The plots started out okay and went downhill, too. A lot of making out in her little house, which just detracts from any central plot that week. Some REALLY unlikely scenarios (she put her dislocated shoulder back together while hanging from a cliff. Seriously?) Overall, I think it has potential, but needs an overhaul and better quality writing. The basic elements are there for success, (good cast choices, great scenery, great plot ideas from the novels..) but right now, they're just not coming together.
