While Mr. Bourdain can make just about anything entertaining, his real impact still depends on food - on the knowledge and emotion he brings to an encounter with a perfectly fried lobster or a board of fresh-cut charcuterie.

He eats the disgusting stuff, so you don't have to. He does so with plenty of good humour and wit, and you find out something about these places along the way.
