"A.W.O.L." is the most frustrating kind of Arrow episode... The larger plot points (a meaty Diggle story line, the return of Goth Felicity, and lots o' Lyla) hold great appeal, but, as executed, those arcs never quite deliver or satisfy. The yearly exploration of Diggle's backstory comes into play, revealing a bit more of how he and his brother reached such a distrustful place in their relationship, while also setting the stage for their eventual, perhaps inevitable reconciliation.
