This PBS documentary is episode one of a four-part series which examines the visual arts in contemporary America by interviewing some of the country's foremost artists and showcasing their work. This volume examines the role of spirituality in the lives and art of five members of the modern American art scene. Beryl Korot, Ann Hamilton, John Feodorov,Shahzia Sikander, and James Turrell relate how their sense of connection to a spiritual source affects and directs their work. Each artist presents examples that represent for them that partnership between divine inspiration and human execution of a work of art.
