Avatar: The Last Airbender serves as a solid live-action entry point into the beloved franchise, although it only sporadically recaptures the magic of its source material.

It's undeniable that Netflix's adaptation is a reminder of how much we missed the world of Avatar. It's still so much fun, and there's still so much to learn with messages that ring even more true today... Go to Full Review

The result is a charming but imperfect adaptation that vastly improves upon the 2010 film — but never soars quite as high as the original animated show. Go to Full Review

The Netflix adaptation is far from a disaster, but it doesn’t master the elements that made the original so good. Go to Full Review

Getting to grips with Avatar sometimes feel like wrestling a giant flying buffalo. But when it does achieve lift-off, this tale of a follicly challenged magic teenager bouncing off clouds is a breath of fresh air. Go to Full Review

It understands that the series is working toward Aang's mastering all four elements and what it means to travel the world, pick up new fighting techniques, and make new allies and friends who could come in handy in the battle against the Fire Nation. Go to Full Review

John S @Remypalz7 3d Great movie has some inconsistencies from the source material but I love the casting and the pacing of the movie See more stevko O @EldoradoAvocado 5d As far as anime adaptations go, it's quite solid. EXCEPT, the writer seems to have forgotte the entire point of the season. Aang is an avatar, who can learn all 4 elements. At the beginning, he can only control air. Each season, he learns a new element. Yet, for some reason, he never even starts to learn waterbending. How do you mess this up? THAT'S THE POINT OF THE SHOW See more Tarif S Dec 13 Ummm hum👎🏻 it wasn't what I expected. It was good at first, but by the time the whole season was over it was really boring.😮‍💨 Because we, the audience, expected something good from Avatar, at least at the end of the series. The entire season has shown the Avatar as being completely inept and weak.🍼 On the contrary, in the animated series, the Avatar was very agile and strong.👊🏻💪🏻❤️‍🔥💥 So this Netflix series seems a bit boring. Hopefully we'll see something good in the next season.🙌🏻 See more Newt S @Piotrejo Dec 12 It's quite boring See more Henry E @BigDiggleJim Dec 11 Personally think this shouldve gotten an 86 percent at the most. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be, but it did a good job with the casting, acting, and overall world building. See more Pavit M Nov 20 Nope. Does not stay faithful to the source material and doesn't do a good job character building. Netflix ruined it. See more Read all reviews
