A bracing work of autofiction by creator and star Richard Gadd, Baby Reindeer can be a punishing watch but richly rewards viewers with its emotional complexity and excellent performances.

Gadd’s writing and performance are more interested in revealing to the viewer why we hurt ourselves and how vast a shadow the ordeal of trauma casts. Go to Full Review

This Netflix series phenom that no one can stop talking about stars an astonishing Richard Gadd as a Scottish comic who shapes his life as the victim of a stalker (a dynamite Jessica Gunning) into a twisted spellbinder that deserves serious Emmy love. Go to Full Review

A story based on true events that shocks, surprises, and becomes increasingly disturbing as the episodes progress thanks to its strong performances and the authenticity of the case. [Full Review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

WhySoSerious .. @that1chick Jan 8 I give this 5 stars for Martha’s photoshopping skills. sent from my iphon See more Emma P @Emmywemmy Jan 4 I know this won't be a popular opinion, but although atmospheric, I just don't rate this. I didn't find the stalker menacing or in any way creepy, just incredibly lonely and a splash desperate. alas, it was a wee bit of a let down as I wanted to be spooked but just wasn't. It's done well for the mood setting and I really wanted to like this but in my humble opinion, overrated. See more VITALII H @freakynickison Dec 26 I just pressed play with no expectations whatsoever. When I got used to the show a thought that I understood what it’s all about then all of the sudden in the middle of the show it became something more complex and deep. Not gonna spoil it for you. It’s about a bartender that wants to become a comedian, Donny who gets stalked by one crazy woman who will follow him everywhere and write him hundreds of emails for day. As the plot develops there is so much more to the story which btw it’s based on true events. Mind blowing. The monologue at the end of the 6th episode is exceptional, so amazing. See more Marco L @decatur555 Dec 26 Baby Reindeer pulls you in quietly and then refuses to let go. What starts as awkward, almost absurd comedy slowly transforms into something far darker and deeply unsettling. The show doesn’t rely on shock twists or easy moral positions. Instead, it builds discomfort through contradiction, emotional exposure, and an unflinching look at trauma and dependency. Richard Gadd’s performance is the core of the series — raw, vulnerable, and often painful to watch. He doesn’t ask for sympathy, nor does the show offer clean answers. Characters behave inconsistently, make questionable choices, and feel disturbingly real. The short episode format works perfectly, leaving no room for filler and maintaining constant tension. It’s not comforting television, but it is gripping and hard to forget. Baby Reindeer isn’t designed to please everyone — it’s designed to confront, and it succeeds. See more P M Nov 11 Why are people giving this one star because it is "too dark and disturbing" ?! If you don't like dark and disturbing then don't watch it but giving it one star would be like giving a horror film one star because it is too scary 😂😂 See more Kas A @Kas.A Oct 19 Raw, intricate and powerful. Baby Reindeer epitomises the unspeakable horrors Richard Gadd went through using meticulous auto fiction and black comedy. See more Read all reviews
