While Bad Dinosaurs begins as a typical physical comedy, with characters bickering and competing without clear motives, it sets itself apart by veering away from the episodic formulas. Go to Full Review

Andrew P @RT58187519 02/17/2025 Some children’s shows manage to entertain both kids and adults alike. Bad Dinosaurs isn’t one of them. Instead, it revels in the lowest form of humour, relying almost entirely on toilet gags and grating vocal performances that amount to little more than a series of irritating noises. My God, children deserve so much better than this. The final straw for me was the scene in which we are subjected to the sight of a dinosaur taking a massive dump - already an unwelcome visual - only for two unfortunate dinosaurs to fall from the sky and land directly in it. The relentless barrage of lazy gross-out jokes and crude slapstick quickly wears thin. It’s more exhausting than it is amusing. Adding to the misery, the forgo’s any actual dialogue in favour of a cacophony of grunts, squeaks, and unintelligible gibberish. This can be really effective is some children’s animation and there’s something admirable about non-verbal storytelling. Bad Dinosaurs lacks the charm to do this successfully. The noises become grating very quickly; almost every other noise is a dinosaur reacting to something. Get ready to hear “Huh??” about 20 times in a 6 minute short. The result is a comprehensive patience-testing slog of a viewing experience. Bad Dinosaurs is utterly insufferable show that mistakes obnoxiousness for humour. See more George H @RT05329330 10/24/2024 My sister's daughter wants a pet duck. Mine, of course, wants a T-Rex. Bad Dinosaurs has no words, yet manages to accomplish an almost unbelievable amount of character development. Each dinosaur is unique, and while most of the jokes will fly over a toddler's head, there's plenty of simple physical humor and fart jokes to cover the gap. This moved from 4.5 stars to 5 stars, though, when a running fart joke became utilized as a method of solving a physics problem. The known attributes of individual dinosaurs add up over time, and as the dinosaurs learn more about each other they add those expectations to their toolkit in solving problems. I enjoy watching it, which is not something I can say for everything my daughter has forced me to watch a dozen times in a row. ... also quite appreciate the 3-in-one approach to episodic storytelling, because it provides stopping points so you can use ten minutes of screen time when you need it instead of 30. See more Andrew C @RT46253868 04/02/2024 If the kids in your life are at the age where bodily functions are hilarious to them then this is their new favourite show, however, the writing and character building are way beyond your average kids TV show "Pixar with farts" sums it up quite well I think. I laughed out loud during every micro- episode (most episodes are broken into three micro stories so you can dose the kids' addictions if needed) I was doubled over holding onto the table for support during one episode. We are talking movie reference and gags that will go straight over the kids' heads that are just for the adults. It is entirely without dialogue so there is no language barrier but there is some jeopardy and cartoon violence, nothing as bad as Tom and Jerry though.
