Baking Impossible is a new competition series hosted by Justin Willman that pairs the most creative and innovative bakers with the best and brightest engineers to make creations that are beyond our wildest imaginations - the kicker is, it's their first time working together! Every episode, teams of Bakineers (1 baker + 1 engineer) will compete in designing and baking creations that are required to not only taste delicious, but also survive intense engineering stress tests. Imagine an edible boat that floats, edible mini golf courses or an edible skyscraper that must withstand a simulated quake.

It's both thrilling and heartwarming to watch formerly unacquainted duos from very different backgrounds, with very different skillsets, work collaboratively to accomplish an extremely nerdy goal. Go to Full Review

By sparking the brain and enticing the stomach, Baking Impossible is already a slice above Baker's Dozen, another recent entry (on Hulu) that knocks off the GBBO baking tent and mixes it with American muchness. Go to Full Review
Joel Keller Decider 10/14/2021
There's real potential for Baking Impossible to be an interesting competition, but we don't think that will start to happen until the teams are winnowed down a bit. Go to Full Review

In culinary circles, baking is thought of as more science than art; the idea of bringing dessert chefs together with engineers may seem slightly undercooked at first, but ends up as a perfect mix. Go to Full Review

The series teams bakers with engineers to create showstoppers that are genuinely worthy of the name, from cake boats that float to crash test cars that pilot themselves delightfully into walls. Go to Full Review

07/30/2022 it was actually rigged, the rc they used in the finale in real life is an arma granite BLX. it is capable of 60 mph out of the box and is all wheel drive. There is 0% chance that it couldn't have made it up that bridge. Also the "Controller" andrew was "driving" it with isn't even a compatible type of transmitter for that rc. See more 06/19/2022 I loved the idea for the show, but, yeah, some of the judging was just stupid. Giving a win to one of the engineers for making something an 8 year old could do just to make them feel better. A bit pathetic and sad. See more 01/07/2022 Show is nice and I had to binge watch. However the wastage of food is pointless they could really let engineers use other recyclable materials instead of pushing for " edible" materials that are, sincerely, not edible. Judges should be forced to taste every single bit of "edible" parts to prove they're really ok to eat. Want to see them trying to take a chunk out of ramen with chocolate. Stop with the nonsense "everything needs to be edible" crap and throw food into the bin. See more 10/20/2021 Thoroughly enjoyable 8-part series which grows into its shoes with the unfolding of the episodes. A baking programme with real ingenuity and originality where baking and engineering interact, with properly challenging challenges which whittle down the contestants to a nail-biting finale. Highly Recommended! Great to see real comraderie, support for one competitive team for another and good sportsmanship. Hope there willl be another series! See more 10/14/2021 The series is absolutely stunning. From the design to each challenge, it captivates your attention in new ways. I would recommend reviewing the entire season performance before determining a winner. It showcases their talents and overall capability much more effectively. See more Read all reviews
