In its 10-episode first season, Caped Crusader takes the foundational aspects of the [Noie] genre — paranoia, conspiracy, and dramatic chiaroscuro visuals — and gives them a spin recognizable to Batman fans but not limiting to newbies. Go to Full Review

You could be forgiven for wondering whether the character of Batman, everyone’s favourite caped vigilante billionaire, has much more to offer storytellers, but this is proof otherwise. Go to Full Review

Poverty is a heavy issue in the Western world, and the disparity between the impoverished and the affluent can be felt. The show guides fans to The Narrows and the suburbs, juxtaposing different areas and the people who live there. Go to Full Review

What makes Batman: Caped Crusader so frustrating is that it’s very close to having a novel interpretation of Batman. Go to Full Review

Jasmine W @jasniquejewels Jul 12 absolutely enjoyed watching this crime-styled noir animated version of batman the characters and how they're introduced this season have really been interesting to watch and that ending I did not see coming. See more Tyler W @TYW810 Jul 9 It looks and plays a little flat but looking forward to the second season See more august R @Kravexpert Jul 3 Boring. Nothing like the 90s. Not even close. Why even watch it? They just have to get their grubby ideaological hands on Batman. Plenty of race swapping and you guessed it, gender swapping unnecessarily. Why would any real fan want to see penguin as an overweight, unattractive "female"? They actually made "her" a sex symbol that men want to be with too. What fairy tale world do you people live in? Hollywood represents the 1%. Somehow, in their tiny minds, they believe there's more of them or there in the world, just dying to watch a female "sex symbol" penguin. It's an absolutely clown show. You guys are ridiculous. Way to kill yet another superhero. You're not more progressed waiting for us to catch up via slow education "entertainment". You're demented and delusional. Zero stars. See more Sean M @Seanpool Jun 28 Nice animation, decent episode, good acting, though not historically accurate for the 1940s See more matthias S @Thescreenasvor Jun 27 I honestly didn’t expect much from Batman: The Caped Crusader. After all, it’s yet another Batman animated series. But I was pleasantly surprised. Setting Batman in the 1940s gives the show a unique identity, blending classic noir influences and old-school worldbuilding with a fresh interpretation of the franchise. Familiar villains are reimagined in more grounded, darker ways, while lesser-known characters get a chance to shine, which feels incredibly refreshing. It’s not a perfect first season, and much of it focuses on establishing the world and characters, but there are some genuinely brilliant moments throughout. Batman and comic fans should definitely check it out. 74%. See more John D. @RT29868305 Jun 27 Oof! Sorry but not sorry. I was expecting it to be very close to the 90s but unfortunately... Rrrgh, it's not 😞. VERY slow paced. Using Bruce Timm name is kind of brutal to his legacy. Hard to believe he was even in charge at all. JJ Abrams made it look like Batman was a nuisance. Animation is good though at least. It focused WAY WAY WAY too much on Barbara and Renee. Most expected this to be more of Alternate Universe Batman focused series like the 90s. But literally NOT. Literally. But a 25 minute episode with 10-15 minute wasted on Renee Montoya and Harley Quinn romance is a big no-no. I don't care for the romance! 🤷 but actually wasting that much time on a series that suppose to be about Bruce Wayne, where batman is only seen running AWAY after Barbara, Renee and Gordan show up is not making it a Batman series at all. He was at least some EP focused more(too late, too small) tskx2 but still 🥱 boring. No wonder James Gunn and Peter listed this as Else-Worlds. Thank gawd. See more Read all reviews
