This was one of the most well written, and true to history versions of the early years of Elizabeth. It is extremely well done, and fills in some gaps with historical fiction, but interesting fiction. Some of the words are true to the original letters.

So, the Crown gets a lot of flack for bending true events to make drama, right? Well, this takes that idea and makes several sailor's knots with the early days of Elizabeth I's life. This ultimately ruined my enjoyment of an otherwise well-made and well-acted story. I just can't find myself caring for a married man seducing a 14 year old. Odd tone to the whole thing.
