Being Human (US): Season 1 (2011)

SEASON:

TOMATOMETER

Critic Consensus: It may not quite live up to the quality of its BBC predecessor, but Being Human benefits from a solid cast of characters and some relatable themes.

All in all it's a pretty deft mix of violence, pathos and ethos via a vampire, a werewolf and a ghost as roomies.

The three episodes I've seen felt flat and airless.

Unfortunately the new version of 'Being Human' is more repetitive, clunky and melodramatic than the previous one.

It leaves quite a bit to be desired.

What was a show about bickering but loving roommates is now a show about living on the dark side. Unfortunately it's not a very interesting place.

The wacky premise remains an intriguing foundation for this composite of drama, comedy and horror.

The American cast is a generally winning bunch.

The characters may all be extreme, but you'll identify with them all.

While the actors are attractive and the performances winning, what will make viewers come back to "Being Human" is the thematic base of wanting to fit in with a world that can't begin to understand you.
