This reality series profiles a group of young people who work aboard yachts that measure well over 100 feet long. The crew members, known as yachties, live aboard the luxurious, privately owned vessels while making sure that their demanding clients' ever-changing needs are met. The yachties share a passion for a job that allows them to visit some of the world's most beautiful places. Each episode features a different group of passengers -- ranging from millionaires to hard-partying friends -- as they head out for a marine adventure. The crews live by the "work hard, play harder" motto that gives them access to exotic perks few people get to experience.

xxgumball x Nov 12 Editing style is absolutely horrific... See more Byron J Oct 24 Season 12 was for me the for most painstakingly and dire season of the entire show. What was once a good show seems to be competing with Love Island. The only saving grace was the return of Chef Anthony. See more Paul D @LVHothead Oct 7 The most awful season ever! This should be called Love Island at Sea. The constant flashing of crew members’ Instagram photos is really irritating. See more Neil Sep 9 The worst ever season for this version or any of the others so far. Please stop the flashing camera movements, the crew stories which are repeated and repeated throughout the season and bring it back to grass roots of running a charter yacht. The crew chosen for this season are the worst ever and this is starting to look like a scripted drama rather than a fly on the wall. This show become popular for being a fly on the wall of the rich yachting industry please go back to that and please choose the crew more carefully as it has just become a love fest with people swapping partners each episode. Less crude more reality. It will be such a shame if you continue down this new style as for me it will kill the show all together. See more one c Aug 27 I agree with Kev C! He stated the issues much better than I can. I knew the editing was an issue for me. There is too much repeating of partial clips and out of order clips. Too much focus on the crew drama which at this point seems scripted. I much preferred to see more of the Yacht Charter Guests. I have been watching since the first season and always had a countdown for when a new season started but I have decided this is my last season. I miss Captin Lee, but understand there comes a time for all of us to step down. I love Captin Kerry, he is great! I think Chef Anthony is good and also really like Fraiser. The new Bosun seems very good but have not seen enough to judge him at this point. However, the rest of the crew can go as far as I am concerned. See more Kev C Aug 7 As a long-time viewer of Below Deck, I’ve found Season 12 to be noticeably lacking in production quality, particularly in its editing and storytelling. The overall viewing experience feels disjointed, and I believe much of that comes down to how the season has been put together. Choppy Editing The editing feels overly fast-paced and fragmented, almost like a “stream-of-consciousness” style designed to mimic social media content. There are constant flashbacks, sudden jumps ahead, and frequent split screens. Instead of creating energy, this disrupts the natural flow of each charter and makes it harder to follow what’s happening. Over-Reliance on Effects It seems there’s now a heavy dependence on flashy effects, slow-motion shots, and overly dramatic music. While these might work in small doses, here they often distract from the actual events rather than enhancing them. Loss of Immersion In previous seasons, I felt completely immersed in the charter experience — almost like I was right there on board. This season, that feeling is gone. The editing choices have replaced natural storytelling with an overproduced feel. Production Interference It’s starting to feel scripted. Guests often seem to arrive with pre-planned storylines and pre-loaded complaints, which makes situations feel manufactured and far less authentic. Camera Work There are also moments where the camerawork feels shaky or unfocused, particularly during busy group scenes such as the casino dinner. Conversations get lost because the camera can’t seem to follow the right person at the right time. Overall, Season 12 feels like it’s trying too hard to be fast, flashy, and dramatic — at the cost of the show’s authentic charm and immersive storytelling. See more Read all reviews
