Better Off Ted has a decent concept - sort of a Dilbert for a new age or an Office with a twist - but the execution ranges from so-so to bad. Go to Full Review

Happily, despite its flaws, it's well-cast and reasonably entertaining. Go to Full Review

Fans of Andy Richter Controls the Universe will undoubtedly take to Better Off Ted because many of Fresco's zany antics are in play here. Go to Full Review

Certainly the most promising of recent sitcoms, Ted approaches the world of big pharmaceuticals with spot-on satire but peoples it with likeable characters for a combo that's as timely as it is entertaining. Go to Full Review

dubh j 01/16/2024 Back when shows were funny... before the modern strangulation of all entertainment. See more 06/02/2021 Portia de Rossi could not save this show for me, even though she was the only one who was acting on this show. I didn't know you could wipe the emotion out of actors performances with anything other than Botox until this show came along. They rattle off their lines like machine guns and the whole effect is toxic. They are horrible characters who perform their lines like the sociopaths they are. None of it is very watchable to me, although, I appreciate the attempts at jabbing at the dark truths behind corporate America. The relationship between Ted and is daughter is especially creepy. Whenever that was happening, it was like watching a Ken doll try to reciprocate love to a real human being. It all left me weary for that young actress, not feeling that Ted the character was a good Dad, rather, that he was a charismatic predator. See more W C 05/26/2021 Have no clue if it is funny or not. It has potential but then it doesn't really reach it! NO laugh track so I can tolerate. See more 04/18/2020 Actually little known, but very funny series. See more 11/03/2016 I've watched this series on Netflix maybe 6 times now. The 1st season was funny, with a lot of promise, but the humor didn't always hit home. The 2nd season, OTOH, still makes me laugh out loud repeatedly, so much so that my cats look at me like, "WTF?!" I'm still sad Better Off Ted was cancelled. Jay Harrington & Portia de Rossi made comedic music together, helped ably by Andrea Anders, Malcolm Barrett & the wonderful Jonathan Slavin. I've seen not a single show as clever and funny as this one; and it was all done in a totally self-deprecatory way that didn't wound, but just pointed out human foibles. Very enjoyable! See more t g 01/11/2016 Classic. Cancelled way too soon. See more Read all reviews
